Rewriting History With New Information...

...Bad when politicians do it, good when archaeologists do it.


Overturning one of our cherished notions, that calculus, that mystical mathematical brouhaha involving lots of esoteric and vaguely alchemical symbols and answers that never resolve to a single number, came about in modern times, a long-lost work by the Greek philosopher Archimedes has been found, proving that Archimedes was working out the principles of calculus - 2,200 years ago.

Ever wonder how some of the marvels of the ancient world got built without modern engineering?

Simple.

They weren't as "without" as we seem to think.
