Never Complain About Free Stuff... Unless You Don't Actually Receive It, In Which Case Try To Be Funny

You guys may not be aware of the campaign, but right now there's this deal going on where if you buy an ATI Radeon graphics card, you get free stuff.

In theory.

Since I happen to like Radeon cards, when we started picking up the equipment for my lovely wife's computer, naturally that was my first choice, so I got a coupon code from the promotion.

My venture onto the redemption website was slightly disappointing as there were only 4 games available for me to choose from, but what the hell, I only paid a hundred bucks for the graphics card anyway, so *shrug* that's the selection there is.

...Hey, is that the new Thief game?

...Hey, it's a Hitman game I haven't played, awesome!

So, I selected those two, and got my Steam keys.

Awesome, right? Free stuff.

I try real hard not to complain about free stuff, because it's free, and they didn't HAVE to give you ANYTHING.

But then I tried to redeem my Steam keys.

Thief worked fine; went through the process, added it to my Steam library, and it's next up in the queue after I finally beat Bastion.

Hitman: Absolution? Not so much. When I tried to redeem that one, Steam reports to me that the key has already been redeemed by someone else and cannot be used again.

What?

So I go look on the AMD site, and find out that this has apparently been a thing during this promotion, so I fill out their on-site form, cough up my information, and request a new key.

That went sorta like this:

Which is to say, a standard support ticket request.

So, a few hours later, they email me back, and ask for a scanned copy of my receipt and coupon code to prove the key rightfully belongs to me.

Which same request looked like this:

Well, ok, fair enough. After all, you made me hand-key my coupon code to submit the request in the first place, but that doesn't actually *prove* anything.

But this is me. So if I'm going to reply with images...

...I'll give you images, fucker.

Enclosed, please find:

1. An image of my receipt for my qualifying product purchase and the
AMD coupon card I received.

2. A screenshot of my successful redemption of one of the keys issued
as part of my coupon code.

3. A screenshot of the key that did not work.

4. A screenshot of the failed key pasted into the Steam redemption box.

5. A screenshot of the error message Steam returns when trying to redeem my key.

6. An image of a sad panda indicating my distress over this issue and
a request for resolution.

What do you guys think, too much?

Hopefully this will result in me getting a new key for Hitman: Absolution.

If not, I haven't really lost anything. I'd be disappointed, but not really bummed.

But dude, come on, how hard is it to *not issue the same key more than once*?
